Gender: Unknown, and generally refers to itself in a gender-neutral fashion. However, the 'voice' of his telekinesis is clearly male.

Appearance: Mewtwo is quite the pokémon. Bipedal and standing at six-foot-seven, he has a domineering presence, emphasized by the fact that he can speak the human language instead of the normal repetition of syllables of its name. His coloring is cold, most of his body a light gray-purple, and his stomach and long tail a dark purple, as are his eyes.

Mewtwo looks much like a science experiment, because that's what he is, cloned from another pokémon named Mew. Protuberances on his head look like short horns, or cat-like ears, and his face looks like that of a slightly deformed cat as well. A tube extends from the back of his head to between his shoulders, yet there is no evidence of what it may be. Mewtwo's shoulders look as though they were built as armor, extending where his shoulder blades would be, and where his pectoral muscles are. His arms look weak, thin and skinny, tipped with strange, three-fingered hands; each of his fingers ends in a nub that looks like a ball.

His legs and tail look like the strongest part of him, large and bulky. His tail isn't prehensile, more used for balance than anything, it seems, and no emotion is shown through it, very much unlike a cat. His legs bend at the knees and ankles, allowing Mewtwo to look as though he walks on his toes.

Personality: Mewtwo, at first, was tempestuous and remorseless, destroying the lab and the humans that had created it. Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket, gave Mewtwo the ability to control his temper and harsh powers through the use of a psychic-suppressing armor. That, however, did not curb Mewtwo's wonderings about where he had come from, nor what he was meant to do or who he was.

Because of his creation, and his betrayal at the hands of the man who'd ordered his cloning, Mewtwo holds a grudge against the entirety of the human race, and even the pokémon within the world, and especially mew, the one he'd been cloned from to be the most powerful pokémon in the world.

But some events changed his outlook on life. His cloning of several trainers' pokémon, and their subsequent battle with each other, and Mewtwo's own with Mew, made him realize that even if they were different, they were still pokémon, and still cared about. Mewtwo then took the clones he had created and moved far away from humans to try and live in peace and safety.

Mewtwo is wise for his years of life, most of which probably stem from his genetics and his psychic power. Still, though, he is naive, misunderstanding his wanted place in the world, and the actions of the humans that he encountered. But eventually, he has come to realize that his place is in the world, just as those pokémon who were born into it.

Abilities/Weaponry: Mewtwo was created to be the most powerful pokémon in the world, and as such has powerful and deadly abilities.

Nearly all of his abilities come from his grasp of psychic power, the most prominent the ability to speak the human language through telekinesis. His attacks, too, are psychic-based, balls of mind-energy having a great destructive force to those things they hit. Mewtwo's defense is through a mind-formed shield that protects him from both physical and elemental attacks (such as a tackle or thunderbolt.)

Not only does he attack and defend with his mind, but move with it, more often than not. The ability of levitation allows Mewtwo and those he wishes to fly, with very little drain on his power. The pokémon also has the ability to control seemingly intangible things, such as clouds, drawing them in to create a storm. Another thing that Mewtwo uses quite often is his ability to selectively erase the memories of humans and pokémon alike.

Weaknesses: As powerful as Mewtwo is, most of his weaknesses lie in his own mind. He has no sense of trust, especially toward humans, and to a lesser extent, other pokémon. He takes most tasks upon itself, to save those he does care about (most usually the clones he had created,) and more often than not, ends up paying the price.

Just as humans and pokémon are susceptible to harm, so Mewtwo is. Physical damage, along with mental damage, weakens him, as does the extension of his power beyond its limits. Machines, as well, are a debilitating enemy, as they have no will for Mewtwo to control, nor mind to deter them from their task.

History: Mewtwo, after years of testing and work in labs on Cinnibar Island, a city located in the Kanto Region of the world of pokémon, was cloned from the fossilized hair of a pokémon known as Mew. Kept in a sort of hyperbolic chamber until he was ready to be released, Mewtwo grew and his mind thrived in that sleep state.

While that was occurring, the lead scientist of the team had also created three other pokémon by cloning: CharmanderTwo, BulbasaurTwo and SquirtleTwo. Not much is known for the reason behind them, but there is a reason for the cloning. A few years before, the scientist had lost his daughter, but had kept her essence alive, and was determined to clone her. Through the connection to the scientists' computers, Mewtwo, the other three pokémon, and AmberTwo, the professor's cloned daughter, could communicate.

During that time, Mewtwo learned of sunlight and air, and friends. But the other three pokémon and AmberTwo became unstable and eventually died, leaving Mewtwo alone to mourn them without understanding why. That led him to question what and who he was, if he was a pokémon or a human, and why the world had taken his only friends away.

When Mewtwo finally awoke, it was to the humans congratulating themselves on creating such a powerful pokémon, and agreeing that Giovanni would be pleased with his newest acquisiton. Angered by their carelessness and treating it as property, Mewtwo became angry, destroying the entire lab and killing all the humans.

Standing over the wreckage of that place, Mewtwo was met by Giovanni, who promised to help him control his psychic powers, and would make him his partner. Mewtwo agreed, and was later fitted with an ability-reducing suit of protective armor. He learned to manipulate his powers to their furthest extent, training both in and out of battles. However, he came to realize that he was just that: being used, and so discarded his 'partnership' with Giovanni, destroying the gym in Viridian City, and leaving to pursue his own life.

A few years later, invitations were sent to trainers, giving them permission to go up against the worlds greatest pokémon master, who turned out to be Mewtwo. He stole the trainers' pokémon, using them as material to clone and produce seemingly stronger counterparts. In the end, a great battle commenced between the clones and the original pokémon, and Mew and Mewtwo. Just as the stadium was about to be destroyed, Ash Ketchum, one of the trainers that had been summoned, jumped into the fray and was rendered lifeless by Mew and Mewtwo's attacks. The tears of the pokémon, who realized what a pointless atrocity the battle had been, revived Ash and made Mewtwo come to realize that holding such a grudge against Mew, who hadn't even created him, would do no good. With that, Mewtwo and his clones took their leave, and the memories of the trainers were erased.

Years later, after finding a place where he and the clones could live in peace, away from the humans, Mewtwo was discovered once more, by Giovanni, who had never given up in his pursuit of the strongest pokémon. Mewtwo defended his home, but finally had to give in to the demands of Giovanni, though he declared that his will could never be controlled. The machines that Giovanni used to hold Mewtwo prisoner drained his strength, and would have eventually destroyed him, had Ash not shown up and helped destroy them.

Taken to a revitalizing spring, Mewtwo was healed, and joined once more in the battle against Giovanni and his minions, saving the hidden place from the humans. In the end, Mewtwo used his power to create a place underground for the cloned pokémon to live. And yet, sometimes in the city, a mysterious pokémon is said to roam, but only at night.
